It Begins with an Idea
And the finest materials in the world
Owning the Source
Great guitars begin long before the first brace is glued or the first note is played. At Merida, that journey starts in our own sawmill — one of the largest tonewood facilities in China — where centuries-old spruce, cedar, mahogany, and rosewood are cut, aged, and refined exclusively for musical use. Owning the source allows us to select each billet not only for beauty, but for the character of its voice. Every board carries the promise of the music it will one day make.
Engineering the Perfect Response
Precision takes over. Our team of designers and master builders study the grain, density, and resonance of each piece to determine the ideal bracing pattern and body geometry. Modern modeling tools meet generations of intuition, ensuring every Merida guitar projects with clarity, balance, and effortless playability. It’s science and artistry working in perfect rhythm — the foundation of tone that lasts a lifetime.
Finished by Hand, Played by Heart
When the shaping and tuning are complete, the craft returns to where it began — the hands of our luthiers. Every edge is refined, every fret polished, every surface brought to life through touch and patience. No shortcuts. No compromise. Only the quiet conversation between maker and instrument that defines a true handmade guitar.
